New artist FAQ

How do I get listed on LoneStarMusic.com?
Each new artist we add to the site must meet certain requirements.

What are the requirements?
Glad you asked!
1.Must be from Texas, currently live in Texas or have Texas connections.
2.Must tour in Texas
3.Must have a personal/ fan website
4.Must have a full length manufactured CD (containing 50% or more original material)

I meet all of those! What’s next?
You need to submit a press kit.

Since I saw I met the requirements can I just go ahead and send you a bunch of CD’s? I know you will approve me.
Please, no.

Can’t I just email you my MP3s? They are really good!
Please, no.

What is in a “press kit”?
Usually, band bio, press photo, CD, contact information, your web address and anything else about your band you would like to include.

I sent in the press kit and haven’t heard back, how long should I wait to start contacting ya’ll?
Please allow at least two weeks. We receive quite a few press kits and so sometimes it takes a little longer to get to go through them all. And then each one must be reviewed.

I’ve waited two weeks. Can I start calling now?

You say I have to be from Texas - I see artists on there that aren’t …why can they be on there and not me?!
There are a few artists that we consider *Honorary LoneStars* . Some examples include: John Prine, Johnny Cash, and Jim Lauderdale

Are you still sure I can’t just send you a bunch of CD’s?
Yes I’m positive.

But my CD was produced by Mike McClure and has a Cary Swinney song on it. I hear that means I am automatically approved.
This is true, send us many copies.
